VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES volunteer logo 04

Volunteers add to the quality of healthcare with services that supplement basic care needs. Volunteens and volunteers gain self-respect, self-esteem, and self-confidence. They have the opportunity to explore careers and experiences in a health facility. Volunteers are also placed at the clinics which are owned and operated by VMH. Volunteers conduct tours for students and other groups, they serve at VMH functions, registering guests and serving food, they file records, escort patients to their destinations, create bulletin boards, and a host of other activities. A minimum of two hours each month is expected of volunteers.
THERE ARE SEVERAL CATEGORIES OF VOLUNTEERS:
Volunteens - Ages 14-18
Adult Volunteers 19 and older
Patient Escorts

The volunteer department also arranges for job shadowing experiences for students and other interested persons, and the department arranges tours and/or speakers for groups.

For more information, or to request an application, contact VMH-Volunteer Coordinator, Judy Gilbertson, at 637-4327.
