PHYSICAL THERAPY & OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Many conditions and/or injuries are potentially served by either department.

In general, occupational therapy deals with activities of daily living (basic skills such as dressing, bathing, eating, etc.) after a serious illness or injury; lymphoedema treatment for chronic swelling; home assessments to help improve safety and independence; splint fabrication; modality treatments for the hand or arm; hand therapy for conditions such as carpel tunnel syndrome; and aquatic therapy.

The physical therapy department offers a range of therapies for muscle and soft tissue injuries, bone and joint injuries, and post-surgical therapies - for both inpatients and outpatients and those in home settings or extended care facilities.
