Outpatient Therapy

Aquatic Therapy: Skilled rehab services in water in a gravity-reduced or -eliminated exercise environment for patients with various injuries or disabilities. 

Back Pain and Care: Care for acute and chronic low back pain to help individuals return to functional work and recreational activities. 

Balance Testing and Retraining: Preventing falls and re-injury by training the body for balance and coordination. 

Orthopaedic Rehab:

  • Treatment of muscle, joint, and bone injuries, including sprains and strains
  • Ligament and tendon repairs (shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle) 
  • Post-op ortho rehab, total joints (hip, knee, shoulder) 

Biodex Testing and Exercise: Computerized exercise and testing of extremities for strength and power to return to work and athletics. 

Neurological Rehab: Skilled services for patients with a diagnosis of stroke, multiple sclerosis, peripheral neuropathy, spinal cord injury, head injury and vertigo. 

Orthotic Casting: Casting for individualized custom foot/arch supports to prevent wear and tear of lower extremities and spine. 

Pediatric Therapy: Physical therapy provided for children with developmental delay of gross motor skills and/or orthopaedic injury/surgeries. 

Prosthetic Training: Functional strengthening, range of motion, mobility, and balance training for individuals with amputations. Consultations coordinated with local prosthetics laboratory. 

Sports Mechanics: Video analysis to assess throwing, running, and jump/landing techniques to prevent injuries and guide safe training of athletes.

Vestibular Testing and Rehabilitation: Testing and treatment performed for dysfunctions that cause vertigo/spinning and unsteadiness in walking and balance. 

Women's Health: Treatment of the muscles and joints to reduce low back or pelvic pain from surgery, pregnancy, childbirth, or aging. Exercise programs may be developed for pre- and post-partum and osteoporosis. Incontinence (stress, urge, or mixed) in pediatric patients and adults as well as pelvic pain, coccygodynia, and dyspareunia is addressed with treatment of the pelvic floor. 

Home Health and Hospice Services: Physical therapy is delivered to qualified homebound patients to improve daily function through Vernon Memorial Healthcare's Home Health and Hospice Department.
