Cindy Ostrem, Clinical Exercise Physiologist

Cindy Ostrem, MS, RCEP, CES, CCET, EIM Credential Level III.  Cindy is originally from Hayfield, Minnesota. She received her B.A. Degree in Health and Wellness in 1982 from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota and received her Master’s Degree in Adult Fitness – Cardiac Rehabilitation in 1985 from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.


Cindy is an American College of Sports Medicine Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist, a Certified Exercise Specialist, a Certified Cancer Exercise Trainer and has the Exercise is Medicine Credential – Level III. She is also American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Heart Saver – Basic Life Support and Heart Saver – AED certified.


Cindy is a member of the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the Wisconsin Society of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Health and Rehabilitation (WISCPHR), and the ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiology Association.  She has served as the WISCPHR President, Secretary, a board of director’s member, and a Northwestern Wisconsin Regional Representative to the WISCPHR.  She also serves on a number of WISCPHR committees, was the co-editor of WISCPHR’s bi-monthly newsletter and has been a member of the WISCPHR Day on the Hill committee, traveling to Washington, D.C. on several occasions to advocate for cardiac rehab reimbursement issues.  Cindy received the Award of Excellence from WISCVPR in 2010.


Cindy has two years of cardiac catheterization lab experience. She has worked in the field of Cardiac Rehabilitation since 1988.   Cindy and her husband live in Westby and enjoy golf.
Cindy began her career at VMH in June 1992.
