Sondra DeLap, Clinical Exercise Physiologist

Sondra DeLap, MS, ACSM-RCEP, EIM Credential Level III, is originally from Viroqua but spent most of her childhood in De Forest, WI.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology in 2010 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire while serving as President and Activities Coordinator for the university Kinesiology Association. She received her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology in 2012 from UW-Milwaukee where she served as Vice President of the Kinesiology Graduate Association. She has experience working in cardiac rehabilitation in the greater Milwaukee area and teaching undergraduate level Exercise Physiology and Exercise Testing and Prescription at UW-Milwaukee and Carroll University.


Sondra’s professional certifications include the American College of Sports Medicine – Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist (ACSM-RCEP) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Provider, Heart S
aver – Basic Life Support and Heart Saver – AED, and has the Exercise is Medicine Credential – Level III.  Sondra is a member of the Wisconsin Society of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Health and Rehabilitation (WISCPHR) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). 


In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Sondra is also the coordinator for the annual Transplant Support Group fundraising walk that is held at the Viroqua High School Track each August.


Sondra is excited to be back in Viroqua and working at Vernon Memorial Healthcare.  She enjoys outdoor activities, long distance running and biking, and spending summers at the family cottage.  Sondra began her career at VMH in April 2013.
