For 16 consecutive years, Vernon Memorial Healthcare has received 5-Star Patient Experience ratings from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

The rating is based on feedback from patients, provided through the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, or HCAHPS. This assessment is a standardized survey sent to hospital patients, where they are asked to answer 29 questions about their hospital experience. According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, HCAHPS “is the first national, standardized, publicly reported survey of patients' perspectives of hospital care.”
