Welcome, Rebecca Palmer!

February 19, 2021

Viroqua, Wis. – February 19, 2021 – Vernon Memorial Healthcare (VMH) is excited to welcome Rebecca Palmer, Nurse Practitioner, to Hirsch Clinic – VMH.  After completing her undergraduate degree in Biology at Carleton College in Minnesota, Palmer received her Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Tennessee with a focus on family practice. She is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Palmer moved to the area in 2018 and practiced as a Nurse Practitioner for Gundersen Clinic in Viroqua until joining VMH in early February. Palmer joins the diverse Hirsch Clinic care team and is very eager to continue to develop her practice in Viroqua.

VMH Chief Executive Officer David Hartberg said, “One of the most important aspects we consider when recruiting providers is the connection the provider will have with our community. When we offered Rebecca the opportunity to join Hirsch Clinic, we knew her experience working with the Viroqua community was key. With her background, familiarity, and affinity for communities like ours we know she has experience to relate well with our patients and their unique needs.”

Palmer was raised in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in northwest Connecticut. While her hometown’s population was only 1,200, she immediately felt comfortable in Viroqua as the surrounding ridges and valleys of the Driftless Region reminded her of home. Palmer enjoys outdoor activities and hobbies including gardening, hiking, snowshoeing and foraging, among others, and is already connected with the Vernon County area with her volunteer work with the Friends of Vernon County Parks & Forests and the Viroqua Community Theatre.
