Addie Osmani, MSN, APNP, CNM is a Certified Nurse Midwife
passionate about providing compassionate, individualized care for women through
every stage of life. With nearly a decade of experience as a labor and delivery nurse
before becoming a midwife, Addie brings a strong clinical foundation and deep
appreciation for relationship-centered care. Her experience across multiple healthcare
systems, including rural healthcare settings, has strengthened her commitment to
supporting women and families close to home.
Addie specializes in women’s health and midwifery care, including obstetrics,
gynecology, family planning, lactation support, and contraceptive management,
including IUD and Nexplanon placement. She also has special training in water birth
and is a Certified Waterbirth Practitioner through Waterbirth International, as well as a
Spinning Babies® provider. She is certified through the American Midwifery Certification
Board (AMCB) and is an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber.
“What inspired me to become a midwife was my passion for caring for women
throughout every stage of life and being part of such an important and personal
experience for families,” Addie shares. “Over the years, working in healthcare helped
me realize how much I valued building relationships with patients, providing education,
and supporting women from adolescence through menopause.”
Her clinical experiences reinforced that passion and showed her the impact
compassionate, patient-centered care can have during vulnerable and life-changing
moments. She was especially drawn to the continuity of care that midwifery offers and
the opportunity to partner with patients through shared decision-making while
supporting both their physical and emotional well-being.
Addie’s philosophy of care centers on partnership, education, and trust. She believes
every patient deserves care tailored to their unique needs, goals, and experiences, and
she strives to create a supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected,
and empowered to actively participate in their healthcare decisions.
“The greatest joy in my life has been becoming a mother, and the second has been
becoming a midwife,” she says. “Both experiences have shaped who I am and
deepened my passion for caring for women and families through every stage of life. If I
can play even a small part in someone’s care that leads to positive change, comfort,
confidence, or healing, that brings me tremendous joy and fulfillment in my work.”
Outside of work, Addie enjoys spending time with her husband, Marc, and their adult
children and family.
