Bee Award Program
At Vernon Memorial Healthcare, we understand that exceptional healthcare goes beyond the efforts of our registered nurses. That’s why we’ve established the Bee Award program, a unique initiative to honor the outstanding contributions of our non-nursing staff members.
Celebrating Team Collaboration
Much like the symbiotic relationship between bees and daisies in nature, the Bee Award emphasizes the collaborative spirit within our healthcare community. We recognize that every member of the VMH team, from environmental services to lab and imaging, plays a crucial role in providing you with the best healthcare experience.
Nominate Non-Nursing Staff Members
If you’ve encountered a nutrition services staff member who went above and beyond, or a registration team member who made a significant impact on your visit, we want to hear about it! The Bee Award is open to all non-nursing staff who exhibit service excellence.
How to Nominate
Nominations are accepted throughout the year, allowing you to recognize outstanding contributions as they happen. Simply take a moment to share your experience and nominate a deserving team member through our online application form or download and return the printable PDF. The selected recipient will be honored with the Bee Award in the spring .
Join Us in Celebrating Excellence

DAISY Award Program
The DAISY Awards at Vernon Memorial Healthcare represent a prestigious recognition distributed through the internationally-acknowledged DAISY Foundation. Originating from the heartfelt experience of the Barnes family, the foundation was established in November 1999 in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who succumbed to complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP) at the age of 33. The exceptional nursing care Patrick received during his hospitalization deeply resonated with his family, inspiring the formation of The DAISY Foundation.
What is a DAISY Award?
DAISY, an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem, embodies the compassionate care that nurses provide. At Vernon Memorial Healthcare, a DAISY Award is presented to an outstanding nurse who has received a nomination for their exceptional contributions to patient care.
Nominate a Remarkable Nurse
Nominations for the DAISY Award are accepted throughout the year, allowing patients, their families, or fellow VMH team members to acknowledge and celebrate the extraordinary efforts of deserving nurses. The award culminates in a special recognition event held annually in the fall.
Selection Process
The selection of a DAISY Award recipient involves an internal committee that carefully evaluates each nomination. The committee considers criteria that is set by the National DAISY foundation.

We invite you to join us in honoring the dedication and compassion exhibited by Vernon Memorial Healthcare Nurses through the DAISY Award program.
