Dr. Darren Perttu is a board-certified general surgeon at Vernon Health, offering a broad range of surgical services including laparoscopic procedures, gallbladder removal, hernia repair, colon and rectal surgery, colonoscopies and upper endoscopy, breast and women’s health surgery, skin cancer and lesion removal, and varicose vein treatment.
Dr. Perttu earned his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at Michigan State University. He brings extensive experience and a patient-focused approach to his practice, emphasizing compassionate care and individualized treatment plans.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Perttu enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, as well as hobbies that include farming and working with tractors. He values the small-town atmosphere of northern Wisconsin and is excited to be part of the Viroqua community, building relationships with patients and neighbors alike.
Dr. Perttu is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Breast Surgeons and is committed to providing high-quality surgical care while supporting the health and well-being of the community.
