Flu season is here again! Flu can be a serious respiratory illness, especially for the very young and elderly, or anyone with a compromised immune system. When you get a flu shot, you are protecting yourself from possible complications from the flu.
Who should get a flu shot?
Everyone over 6 months of age should get flu shot, however those most at risk for flu complications include:
- Individuals over age 65, especially anyone living in a senior residence community
- Individuals with heart disease or chronic lung diseases
- Pregnant women
- Children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years old
